First, a heartfelt thanks to Jennifer Schumann, who has served as co-editor from 2016-2024. Her dedication, expertise, and editorial leadership have been invaluable. As she steps into a new role on the TIAFT Board, we congratulate her on this well-deserved achievement!
Meet Your New Co-Editors
Sam Joubert
I am honored and excited to be joining the editorial team for the esteemed TIAFT Bulletin. With just over 10 years experience in the toxicology industry, encompassing both clinical and forensic toxicology, I currently serve as an LCMS Applications Specialist at Melbourne Pathology, a clinical toxicology laboratory in Melbourne, Australia. I am a current board member of the Forensic and Clinical Toxicology Association (FACTA) and have been editor of the FACTA Newsletter since early 2020. Having joined TIAFT in 2017, I am actively involved in the organizing committee for the upcoming TIAFT meeting in Auckland, New Zealand. Additionally, I manage social media for both FACTA and the TIAFT2025 conference. I hope to bring a fresh perspective to the Bulletin team, keeping up with new and emerging trends within the broad field of toxicology and taking advantage of the possibilities the newly digital only platform provides. My goal is to uphold the excellent quality of publication standards set by previous editors, while enhancing accessibility to current members.
Luke Rodda
With 20 years in forensic toxicology, I have been a proud TIAFT member for over 15 years, forming strong connections and friendships with our incredible community. Beyond my long-standing membership—and my recent role as Chair of the Young Scientist Committee—I aim to bring relevant experience to this role, having previously served in editorial positions, including guest special issue editor and editorial board member for JAT, as well as over a decade of consistent peer-reviewing for 20 international journals. I currently serve as Chief Forensic Toxicologist and Director of the Forensic Laboratory Division at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, City and County of San Francisco, and hold the position of Assistant Adjunct Professor in Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Throughout my career, I have authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications and over 90 scientific conference abstracts. I remain committed to ongoing research, fostering collaborations among peers, and promoting the best forensic toxicology insights and advancements.
